About
Our Clinic
At MindWell Therapy & Wellness we offer compassionate, individualized mental health care for adults. Founded by therapist Josie Marando, our clinic provides a safe and supportive space to support life’s challenges, strengthen emotional well-being, and reconnect with what matters most. Our goal is to create a calm, supportive space where you can reconnect with your values, feel seen and begin to heal- at your own pace. Mindwell is more than a therapy practice; it’s a place to realign with what truly matters, and move toward a more intentional, fulfilling life.
We understand that no two journeys are the same. That’s why we take an individualized approach to therapy—drawing from a range of evidence-based modalities to meet each client where they are and support their unique needs, goals, and lived experiences.
Philosophy and Promise:
We know how overwhelming it can feel to find your footing when life feels like an uphill climb. That’s why we’re committed to bringing clarity, and calm and simplicity to your healing journey. With a grounded, step-by-step approach, and integrative therapies that support both mind and body, we help make the path forward feel manageable. Because while healing isn’t always easy- it shouldn’t feel more complicated than it needs to be.

About Josie
Josie Marando is a registered social worker and founder of MindWell Therapy & Wellness. Her training and work experience has focused largely on the cognitive behaviour treatment (CBT) of anxiety, depression, stress/ burnout, and different life transitions in emerging adults, and adults.
Her work and training history include community agencies, family health teams, hospitals, and private practice settings. Josie was fortunate to receive cognitive behaviour training at The Beck Institute for Cognitive Therapy by Aaron Beck. As well, she holds a certificate in Mindfulness-based Chronic Pain Management from the NeuroNova Centre.
Josie is passionate about supporting individuals experiencing anxiety, mood challenges, relationship issues, and related concerns such as stress, grief and perfectionism. She holds a certification in Perinatal Mental Health (PMH-C) and holds special interest and empathy in helping individuals navigate the reproductive journey from pre-parenting and pregnancy to postpartum and parenthood.
Josie works from a holistic, integrated approach, drawing from modalities like psychodynamic therapy, acceptance and commitment therapy (ACT), cognitive behavioural therapy (CBT), and mindfulness-based practices. Her goal is to meet the needs of the whole person—emotionally, mentally, and practically.
Outside the therapy room, Josie is a mom of two, an active yoga participant, runner, horseback rider, and a lover of interior design.

Steps to Therapy
-
Start with a free 15-minute phone call to see if we’re a good fit. We’ll explore what’s bringing you to therapy and what you’re hoping to work on. This is also a chance for you to ask any questions about the process.
-
If we decide to move forward, we’ll schedule your first session and set a time that works best for you moving ahead.
-
In our early sessions, we’ll explore your current challenges, personal history, and strengths. We’ll clarify your goals and I’ll create a tailored plan to guide our work together.
-
Through regular sessions, we’ll build momentum and continue working toward your goals. Between sessions, I may invite you to try certain tools—like mindfulness practices or reflective exercises—to support your progress.
-
Each session begins with a check-in to see how you’re doing. Your feedback helps us stay aligned and make sure therapy continues to meet your needs.
-
You’ll know it’s time to pause or end therapy when you feel more connected to yourself, more resilient, and confident in handling life’s challenges with the tools you've developed.
